Murray Laidley has been the senior vice president of Engineering for SumTotal Systems since February 2007. In this role, he leads a worldwide team in charge of architecture, technology, infrastructure and quality assurance for SumTotal’s award-winning talent development software suite. Laidley brings over 25 years of technology experience to SumTotal, and has held senior-level IT positions for the past 15 years.

Most recently, as vice president of Research & Development for Data Analysis Products at Seattle-based Insightful, he oversaw software engineering, quality assurance, documentation, engineering services and architecture for an integrated family of enterprise software products.

Prior to his role at Insightful, Laidley served as vice president of Technology for another Seattle company, Qpass. While with Qpass, he assisted in the company’s product launch by creating and implementing processes for software development, quality assurance and delivery.

Laidley's previous career also includes positions at Texas Instruments, Halliburton Company and McGraw-Hill's School System Division.

He received a B.S. degree in Geophysics from the University of British Columbia, Vancouver, Canada.
